About me

I grew up in the quaint town of Sartell, nestled in the heart of Minnesota. In a family full of medical professionals, including my three older sisters, mom, dad, uncle, and cousins, I stood out as the one with a different calling. During my formative years as an adolescent and teenager, I found myself captivated by YouTube channels like Freddiew (now known as RocketJump) and Corridor Digital. Their creative prowess became my inspiration, and I was determined to follow in their footsteps. Armed with nothing more than a flip phone for a camera, I persuaded my neighbors and friends to star in my videos. Together, we crafted action-packed shorts, and I meticulously acquired the latest versions of After Effects and Sony Vegas by torrenting them on my father's computer. My passion eventually led my parents to enroll me in a summer program at the Silvan Learning Center. I more into goofing around making films rather than my studies.

Throughout high school, my enthusiasm for filmmaking continued to grow. I eagerly enrolled in every available audio-video class, even convincing my school to grant me independent studies under the guidance of my tech ed teacher. It was around the age of 16 when I made my career aspirations clear to my parents, declaring, "I want to pursue a career in film." Their initial misunderstanding, assuming I meant adult films, underscored their concern for my stability, both mentally and financially. However, a turning point occurred during my high school graduation party when a dear friend successfully persuaded my parents to believe in my unwavering passion. From that moment onward, they became unwavering supporters of my chosen path.

My journey continued as I earned a degree in Film Production from Montana State University. Although the university lacked VFX programs, I earned the reputation as the "VFX" enthusiast on campus. In every spare moment, I immersed myself in YouTube tutorials, thirsting for knowledge. My commitment extended to mastering all facets of production, ensuring I would become a more accomplished and valuable art director.

On film sets, I discovered my love for Gaffing and Lighting. For the next three years, I dedicated myself to working as a gaffer. It wasn't until 2017 that I ventured into the world of 3D, recognizing its potential to revolutionize lighting and VFX compositing. My passion found its true home in 3D, leading to an internship with a local company responsible for the YouTube series "Expedition Overland." While I cherished the camaraderie I found there, I knew it wasn't my ultimate destination. My heart yearned to contribute to big blockbuster movies and action short films. Fortunately, before parting ways, I had the privilege of crafting the intro title sequence for a feature they were producing – my first "BIG BOY" task, which you can view on my website under VFX-Wulff Land.

Today, I proudly embrace the role of a freelance professional, collaborating with numerous production companies and businesses to bring their visions to life. My dedication to honing my craft knows no bounds as I tirelessly work and learn, striving to enhance my work to the best of my ability. While I firmly believe in the impossibility of perfection and the limits of knowledge, I consider these unattainable ideals worthy goals to pursue. With aspirations of becoming a VFX Supervisor for large-scale feature films and series, I eagerly anticipate the day I can remove that sentence from my website. My insatiable thirst for learning and problem-solving has become ingrained in my DNA.

Beyond my cinematic pursuits, I am an avid fan of blockbuster franchises such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter. My fascination with the intricate world of physics and the simple pleasure of a good cup of coffee are constants in my life.
